Consultancy

Green Light’s expertise in behavioural analysis and security enables us to support clients and partners on specific projects. These projects vary from helping clients in assessing, planning, implementing and reviewing either the current situation or in helping scope for the future. Projects vary depending on specific need and often lead to the implementation of a T.R.A.P.® training intervention.

Clients might be looking at deployment of BDO’s and seek to find how best to introduce them to the business, how to support them and also how to utilise them to integrate into existing security protocols, enhancing existing environments for the safety and security of all.

Security Programme Drafting

Our consultants are able to assist in the development and drafting of security programmes. Many programmes fail as the views and perspectives of impacted parties are not taking into consideration at the initial planning stage. We manage the consultation process and develop workable programmes with optimum buy-in by all concerned.

Green Light’s consultants can assist you in developing and drafting:

  • T.R.A.P.® Security Programmes
  • Security Procedures
  • Security Procedures Manuals
  • T.R.A.P.® Training Programmes
  • Contingency Plans
  • Emergency Response Programmes
  • Security Programmes (for industry stakeholders)

Please contact us indicating your specific requirements.

Training Course Design

One size does not fit all. Green Light designs and sets the T.R.A.P.® for each of its clients based on a number of variables.

having a clear understanding as to why its client wishes to utilise behavioural analysis within its security arsenal. In other words, why do you want to do it?

defining which criminal, disruptive and/or anti-social behaviours its clients wish to identify and even those which it would rather not. In other words, what do you want to prevent?

being aware of which security technologies, if any, are available to be utilised either as evidential tools (such as CCTV) or as threat detection technologies (such as X-ray or personnel scanners). In other words, which tools are available?

being sensitive to client concerns regarding overt security, especially in environments where customer or guest experience might be negatively impacted by the introduction of enhanced security protocols. How do you wish to be perceived?

appreciating the primary job functions of the staff undergoing T.R.A.P.® training and to what extent security is part of their day to day activities. Who are you going to train?

specifying the expected response for each person who has undergone T.R.A.P.® training, and to what extent intervention (verbal or physical) or escalation are the preferred tactics. What do you want staff to do?

recognising not only the client’s security culture at a senior level but also being sensitive to issues that might arise as a result of the nationality, gender, language skills and mindset of the staff who will ultimately be using T.R.A.P.® techniques. What do we need to be cautious about?

establishing the legal parameters for the personnel who are to be trained, especially when deploying T.R.A.P.® trained staff to operate outside the venue being protected. What are staff allowed to do?

quantifying, from the outset, how much training time is available to each person who is to undergo T.R.A.P.® training. How long have we got to achieve our objectives?

working within its clients’ budget, not only for the design and delivery of the T.R.A.P.® training Green Light initially delivers, but also considering financial implications for clients further down the line in terms of salaries and training time.

T.R.A.P.® Programme Warnings

T.R.A.P.® can enhance the security of any location, but it is important to recognise that T.R.A.P.® is only another layer of the security system. We believe it to be the most important layer.

If our clients’ objective is to mitigate the threat posed by, say, a marauding firearms terrorist, we urge them not to build-in unnecessary reporting procedures or demand continued surveillance of potentially threatening individuals. A speedy response is of paramount importance and we will wish to discuss associated operating protocols with the client before delivering training.

Equally, clients should not judge a member of its staff escalating an incident due to a person’s behaviour based on the subsequent discovery of prohibited or restricted articles on their person or within their belongings; T.R.A.P.® is as much about identifying a person doing surveillance as it is about preventing an attack on the day in question.

T.R.A.P.® is at its most effective when all agencies involved in the securing of a given venue appreciate what staff are being taught and why cooperation is key. We recognise that there are different, often competing, security objectives, let alone guest or client experience considerations. We prefer to address those in the consultancy period prior to delivering training.
