5th Israeli Transportation
|
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Welcome to the fifth edition of the Israeli Transportation Security Solutions Tour organised by Green Light Limited in association with The Israel Export & International Cooperation Institute (IEICI) and Israeli Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labour. The tour brings together security professionals and representatives of regulatory agencies, air and seaport authorities, airlines, shipping companies and other transportation entities from around the globe. As a group we visit Israeli transportation hubs, witness technological developments and attend lectures on the philosophy behind the State’s world-renowned security infrastructure.
Ben Gurion International Airport is often cited as an example of security best practice and is, as always, a tour highlight. Yet, visits to Israel Railways, Taba and Erez border crossing points and the security fence also provide an insight as to how the country has responded to the various threats to which it is exposed, from both technological and human factor perspectives. And there’s nowhere quite like Eilat on the Red Sea to see and feel maritime security concerns and practices.
The visit to the Haifa Technion enables delegates to see how security solutions are developed, whilst the technology showcase shows off some of the best of the Israeli products on the market. Brand new for 2009 is the inclusion of the Israel Intelligence Heritage & Commemoration Centre where delegates will witness some of the weapons and explosives that have been used in terrorist attacks.
In Jerusalem, the trip down the “Suicide Bomber Route” is a sobering experience and few fail to be moved by the visit to Yad Vashem (Holocaust Memorial). We also visit some of the historical sites in the Old City, including the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the Western Wall and Via Dolorosa.
RESTRICTIONS
All participants must be employed by recognised transportation entitles,
security regulators or security integrators. All participants will be

from Israel, taxis to and from their hotel on arrival/departure and accommodation.

Eilat ($180 single and $205 twin per night B&B) by the IEICI. Delegates
are not obligated to stay in the tour hotels, however they should note

All transportation within Israel will be on chartered buses, including the trip to Eilat, however the return journey from Eilat to Tel Aviv will be by air. The flight is included in the cost of the tour yet, whilst we shall endeavour to avoid the need, we reserve the right to charge a surcharge should the cost of flights increase.
